Bakers of all abilities, experience, and diagnoses are invited to participate in any of our classes.

Foundations Course
Beginning with how to arrange your kitchen workspace and a review of how baking is inherently beneficial for children, attendees will learn how to maintain control over their baking activity while sneaking in essential skills instruction that is individualized for your young baker. This class is for adults only and aims to inspire attendees to bake at home with the children in their lives!

Celebration class
This class celebrates a holiday, birthday, event or theme with delicious treats and a sprinkle of early learning skills. While the young bakers are given an opportunity to decorate cookies OR cupcakes (to be determined before class), adults will learn tricks for making this fun activity educational.

Individualized in-home baking
This class is perfect for those new to baking with children (or new to baking with multiple young bakers). Before we bake together, we will schedule a 30-minute phone consultation where we will learn about your family’s baking experience, interests, and needs. We will determine specific skills to highlight during our session and select a recipe together. This is a great time to choose a recipe that is special to your family! On baking day, our instructor will come to you with all ingredients prepared. We will work together to find the best arrangement for your space using your materials before diving into the project together. You will learn how to teach the targeted skills while making a delicious creation with your young baker. After baking day, you will receive individualized recommendations to support you in future baking endeavors.
Note: Families with young bakers presenting with a speech delay or a developmental disability diagnosis such as Autism Spectrum Disorder will particularly benefit from this individualized instruction. After more than a decade of working with learners of all ages and needs, Bake to Learn founder Beth specializes in supporting students and their caregivers in identifying strategies for success.
